About the NBS

Thank you for visiting our website. We're pleased that you're thinking about a career in radio.

Radio is relatively easy to do – but difficult to do well. It’s the simplest, most exciting medium - easy to learn but difficult to execute. Become a good radio broadcaster and career opportunities will open up for you – in radio and TV.

The broadcasting business continues to expand.  Radio, in particular, is growing as a result of new digital and internet radio stations. But in an age where 'content is king', radio is shorter than ever on talent and know-how. At the NBS, we'll give you the knowledge, the skills and the confidence to make a real impact in radio. The NBS is intensive, demanding and hands-on. You'll be behind the mic from week one! In weeks, we'll have trained you up to give you the very best chance of succeeding in broadcasting.

The NBS aims to be the premier radio trainer in the United Kingdom. We like to think The School is recognised and respected throughout the UK radio industry.

Our courses are extremely practical and intensive. We teach the radio skills that are relevant today, and those that will be relevant tomorrow. Our courses reflect the huge changes in the way radio is made and delivered. We deal in contemporary content and distribution. Our courses are at the cutting edge of radio practice.

The NBS provides high-quality training in radio presentation and news. It also delivers to the media industry both basic and high-end training in skills such as marketing, promotions, sales, and management.
