Radio is relatively easy to do – but difficult to do well. It’s the simplest, most exciting medium - easy to learn but difficult to execute. Become a good radio broadcaster and career opportunities will open up for you – in radio, TV and online.
Our courses are extremely practical and intensive. We teach the radio skills that are relevant today, and those that will be relevant tomorrow. Our courses reflect the huge changes in the way radio is made and delivered. We deal in contemporary content and distribution. Our courses are at the cutting edge of radio practice.
The NBS is recognised and respected throughout the UK radio industry for its high-quality training in radio presentation and news. It also delivers to the media industry both basic and high-end training in skills such as marketing, promotions, sales, and management.
The School was founded in 2003, originally based at the University of Sussex Innovation Centre in Brighton. Whilst the NBS still teaches in Brighton it also delivers courses across the UK.
